The Event:
On Wednesday, May 23rd @ Mezzanine, 14 men will compete but only one will win the title of Mr. Marina. We’re searching for the male specimen who most embodies the spirit of San Francisco’s Marina District: social, fun-loving, generous, manly… and it doesn’t hurt if he enjoys wearing pastel colors from time to time. Mr. Marina doesn’t necessarily need to live in the 94123, but he does have to embody the neighborhood values. There will be a panel of judges who score contestants based on 3 categories: swimwear, “Marina-wear” + question, and talent. Fundraising success will also be weighed within the score; each contestant will fundraise for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in order to participate.
The Perks:
In addition to the endless glory that comes with holding the title, Mr. Marina will have great perks spanning Union Street to Chestnut Street including free drinks, restaurant gift certificates, and local shopping discounts throughout the year of his reign. And last but not least, the winner’s name will be engraved on the Mr. Marina plaque for all eternity. Imagine what the grandkids will say!
The Cause:
The Mr. Marina competition is hosted by Team Slap Cancer, Brianna Haag’s LLS Woman of the Year fundraising team. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Leukemia Lymphoma Society in support of the fight against blood cancer.
The finalists were selected and notified on Friday, February 24th. Our lineup is truly the cream of the Marina crop and will be announced when the Eventbrite page goes live on Thursday, March 1st.
